Music School Faculty:
GREGG MICHALAK Piano Teacher Gregg
earned a Master’s of Music in performance from Ithaca College.
His primary teachers include Morris Borenstein (Juilliard),
Mary Ann Covert, and Phiroze Mehta. Later studies were with
Solomon Mikowsky (Manhattan School of Music) and other noted
artists as Ruth Laredo, Martino Tirimo,Lukas Fosss,Augustin
Anievas and Pulitzer prize-winning composer Karel Husa. Mr.
Michalak was a prize winner in several national and
international competitions. He has published articles in
several keyboard periodicals. He has also served on staff at
Ulster Community College and Vassar College.
RICK SAVAGE Trumpet Teacher Rick earned a
Bachelor’s of Music in Jazz Studies from Indiana University.
Lessons began for him at age ten, played solos in the school
band and on to receiving the John Phillip Sousa Outstanding
Musician Award. His private instructions were with studio
trumpet great Harold Mitchell and Jazz Saxophone master Warne
Marsh that prepared him to receive the Louis Armstrong
Outstanding Jazz Soloist Award. Rick has worked with Nancy
Wilson, The Temptation’s, Peggy Lee, Burt Bacharach, The O’Jays
and many more. He has played clubs from Tokyo to Berlin and
concert halls from Paris to Amsterdam, and festivals from
Trinidad to Quebec.
VICTORIA BOTTA
Violin, Viola, Piano Teacher
Vicki‘s education includes a Bachelor’s Degree from C.W. Post of
L.I.U in English and Journalism and a Masters in Education
Degree from Cambridge College. She received a Permanent
Certification in Music from SUNY New Paltz. Vicki attended String
Orchestra Graduate/Masters classes at Villanova. She was also a
string orchestra teacher as well as a general music teacher at
Goshen schools. Vicki is a member of the Greater Newburgh
Symphony Orchestra. This year Vicki attended A.S.T.A National
String Conference in Kansas City and has become a Certified
N.Y.S.S.M.A. adjudicator.
MICHAEL LEROSE Guitar, Bass Guitar Teacher
Mike received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Montclair
State College, an Associate's Degree of Music from County
College of Morris, and is a certified Special Education of Music
teacher. Mike has taught students general music, music theory
classes, and supervised concert bands. He was an Adjunct Music
Professor at County College of Morris. Mike has been teaching
students privately for over twenty years. He is presently
performing in a band as the lead guitarist. He has performed
classical, jazz, rock and blues and has played guitar in
productions including Grease, Man of Lamancha, Jesus Christ
Superstar and Godspell.
SARA MARIE SIMAS
Voice, Piano Teacher, Actress
Sara has a Bachelor's of Arts from SUNY Fredonia and is a Music
major from SUNY Orange. She has taken acting workshops as
well. She has taken vocal training with Madame Asa Mae Curran,
Ruth Sorrel Curtis, Ron Defesi and Richard Dorr. Sara has
performed in numerous plays and has sung numerous operas. Sara
has home tutored, done substitute teaching for schools in
Middletown, Chester, Pine Bush and Minisink. She has taught
Special Education, along with her teaching of piano and voice.
In 2005 she was named in the Times Herald Record as the "Best
Actress" in Orange County.
MICHAEL PERRI
Drum Teacher
Mike studied Music Theory at SUNY Orange from 2003-2005. He
performed in the SUNY Orange Orchestra in 2003 and in the SUNY
Orange Jazz Ensemble in 2004. In his younger years he played
percussion in school bands throughout elementary and high
school. Mike formed a rock group Three Card Monte in
2003. He has performed at venues across New York and
Connecticut and has put out two independent releases. Three
Card Monte is in the process of recording their first full
length album.
JOHN PAUL BENDYKOWSKI
Guitar Teacher John has
attended SUNY Orange and has taught guitar for over ten years.
John is in the process of writing a guitar instruction book. He
has performed with the New York Blues Legend Papa Chubby and
Bill Perry and has toured with EC Scott. John is currently
performing with his trio around Orange County area and Wednesday
nights at Boodles Opera House in Chester. John was asked to
market/demo a custom guitar for a NY guitar manufacturer this
year in California. John has taught private guitar lessons for
the last few years.
MARY LEE FARRIS Voice, Piano Teacher Mary Lee
earned a Bachelor's of Music (Pedagogy major, Piano minor) from
the School Of Music, University of Louisville. She received a
Master's in Voice and was awarded the first teaching
assistantship in the vocal department. Additional studies were
with Jean Stawski in Munich Germany, Judith Oas Natalucci in NEW
YORK CITY and Rome, Adele Addison (Prof. of Voice at SUNY Stony
Brook), Beverly Johnson (Julliard School), W. Fletcher Smith
(Prof of Voice at University of Louisville). She was a member of
the vocal faculty at the University of Louisville, has performed
professionally in the USA and Europe, and has been a free lance
vocal coach and teacher.
MICHAEL
ROGERS VOICE TEACHER
Michael
has been singing since his teens. He has performed
professionally in various rock bands and has performed in
many Battle of the Bands making it to semi finals and
finalist levels. He has toured the East Coast, worked on
independent film sound tracks as well as performing as a
vocal soloist. He has written lyrics, mixed and produced
CD's and has managed and promoted bands. Michael has
appeared on TV in talent competitions and has done some
commercials for Cable Music Television. Michael has studied
at William Patterson University and has private vocal
training with coaches in NYC and a classical/opera vocal
coach. Mike brings his passion of music and his gift of
teaching to his students.
TERRY MCDONOUGH
Piano Teacher Terry
is a graduate from Penn State University with a B.A. in Music
Composition and Theory .He has thirty five years of playing
experience. Presently he plays professionally in a band and also
performs solo.
MARY PARISH
Vocal Teacher/Actress Mary has
had vocal training for many years along with studying dance. She
has taken theatre and vocal workshops in Rochester NY.
Mary also studied Acting/Theatre
and Musical Performance at the University of West Florida. Mary
has performed in "Oliver", "A Chorus Line", "The Rocky Horror
Show", "A Funny Thing Happened ….Forum", to name a few.
CHUCK
CORRADINO DRUM
TEACHER
Chuck is a versatile powerful drumer that will bring you
teachings from Carmen Appice (power rock teaching) to Joe
Morello (speed teachings) and Billy Cobham (jazz fusion. He
has also studied with swing teachers, and at Drummers
Collective in Manhattan. Chuck started out in a PAL Drum and
Bugle Corp marching in parades and turned to rock with the
British invasion. He has played in bands since he was 16
years old, from the battle of the bands to bands at swing
clubs. He worked the rock circuit with agency groups for
over 20 years. e performed at all the main clubs at the
Jersey Shore, the Hamptom's and up Hunter Mountain during
the winter as well as the college circuit. After a ten year
break he began again and toured with a Christian Rock Band
in Jerusalem, Samaria, Tiberius, Tel-Aviv and Golan Hts. He
also performed at the Israeli music festival held at the
Jerusalem Theatre for several years. He is now a pastor and
performs with Christian groups and works with a worship team
that plays contemporary worship services. Chuck brings a
unique blend of teaching to our students that incorporate a
personal touch and experience.
